Liverpool

Post by captinktm »

I am visiting the United states of Kingdom next week, staying with the daughter in Prescot does anyone know of any motorcycle type attractions in the area I could visit. I have a day book in the Nation museum in Brum, just wondered if there are any more up north.

Thanks

Chris.

Greetings,

Not very far from your daughters location is a relatively small yet interesting motor museum;

If static engines might be of interest to you I can highly recommend Anson Engine Museum;

http://www.enginemuseum.org/index.html

What about push bikes? Just up the road at Warrington;

http://glorydays.cc/blog/cycle-museum/

For bus transport try;

http://www.gmts.co.uk

British commercial vehicles can be found at;

http://www.britishcommercialvehiclemuseum.com

Take a day out to visit the Lake District to find;

https://www.lakelandmotormuseum.co.uk

Manchester has the Science & Industry museum;

https://www.msimanchester.org.uk

Further away in York is the famous National Rail Museum;

http://www.nrm.org.uk

Well that little lot should keep you out of the pub for an hour or two :lol:

Bit of a random one but what about a day at a trials school? even though you've ridden a lot off road if you've never done trials its totally different.
https://www.inchperfecttrials.co.uk/sho ... ience.html
Then:
Honda MB5, Honda MBX125, 350LC, RGV250, MTX125, GasGas JTX250, CM 644 DS, BMW R1100S, Beta Rev3 250, Beta Rev4T, Honda XL700V Transalp, BMW F800 GS, Kawasaki Super Sherpa
Now:
Montesa 4RT, Triumph Tiger 800, Beta Alp, Montesa 315

I know you're an admirer of the CCM GP450, you could visit it's place of birth, just a short train ride away in Bolton.
Incidentally, I was once on the train from Manchester to Blackburn. There was a sign on the toilet which read.......
"Please Do Not Use The WC whist The Train Is At A Station"
Some wag had written under it.....
"Except At Bolton"
Edit.....
Winfield's of Haslingden is an hour away by car/bike, interesting display of motorcycles, Nice cafe and big stocks of camping/outdoor gear.

Top idea, I did ride trials in the winter in my younger days, but there nothing like sharpening up the old skills. If I beak something there will be a proper hospital to go to. I wonder if they'll have a Montesa 348 for me to ride.

IT was brand new montesa 4RT or Beta Evos this time last year, good instructors, home made food for lunch and it's not much over £100 quid for the day, they have some fantastic land to use.
