Anything goes, and mine's a Guinness.

ABR Moto, on here? Plop Enduro.

Post by DanielS »

Last weekend we raced at our fourth Plop Enduro. An 8 hour C90 Endurance race. I see there's a team called ABR Moto, any chance there on here too?

We even got our 3 teams' photos with some ladies!

and me trying to look fast on our aptly named "Chick 'n Pox Racer"

We finished 11th Overall out of 100 bikes and that was good enough for a 6th in Class. Roll on the next one next year.

Great fun. Many years ago I was part of a KRC Endurance Series team, with three riders and crew competing in 6 or 8 hour races, on a ZRX750. It was an intense, tiring and expensive hobby with some great moments but also lots of crash damage.

By way of a break from the rigours of he season we entered ourselves in a round of 'Moped Mayhem'. What a laugh. Hours of going round (part tarmac, part dirt etc) getting covered in crap in full leathers astride a lightly souped up peugeot, which cost us £500 all in. I did my stints with an inflated banana on my head (like you do). Others rode as gorillas and welsh dragons etc. Falling off was a hell of a lot cheaper and didn't inevitably end up in an ambulance, as I was used to from big offs in the KRC at Pembrey and Snetterton.

And it looks like it's still going, ( http://www.grampianmotorcycleconvention ... hem.htmlso ) so if anybody wants to enter a team I can highly recommend. One of the most hilarious 4 hours of biking you can take part in.

Uh oh, I've just googled both the Moped Mayhem and the Solex race (In France?) and I think this could be a dangerous addiction!

Yup. The fellow to his left is only an inch shorter but he's standing on a slope. Their team is called the Praying Mantises as that's what they look like :)

We have a team that enters the Nifty Fifty event. It's 50 - 90cc machines that were once road legal, on a motocross track for 5 hours! They take some punishment I tell thee...
