Me and two buddies were up there last friday and was a good day. However I wasn't that impressed with the ride up, yes the scenery was great and the atmosphere up there great but the ride up there wasn't enjoyable too busy had to concentrate alot could never fully relax and enjoy the ride, don't get me wrong i'm glad i did it, but we went down the other side into swiss using the Umbrial pass and Fluela pass which i much preferred.

I've "done" the Stelvio from the eastern side and prefer other passes to it. Great to do it, and maybe I'll try to do it from the west side in the future.

Fair bit of snow up there at the moment!

We were there in September too, 7th to the 17th. Worst weather for years as early apparently.
the wee wumman in the booth at Grossglockner was worried and tried to warn us, at that point I pointed to my Crispy Designs Scotland sticker on my 990 Adventure "ah, ok ok you used to this weather"

One of the best passes we did was Splugen, Italy to Switzerland.....brilliant. Better than Stelvio I reckon.

This was just weird, 5 mins before we passed a field with cows and they ALL had some kind of head dress on too.
I was getting bumped by them as they passed my panniers, had to push them away with my foot.
All part of the adventure and the memories....
