I've been out test riding new adventure bikes, 5 so far...!

Anything goes, and mine's a Guinness.

I know the salesman at HGB Honda in Ruislip (Phil) had they have a test bike. Give them a ring.

Everyone to their own, but I was in a similar position during July 2016 and after a lot of reading spec's and checking out "real world" bikes bought the new revised model 2016 Honda VFR800X Crossrunner and have been completely satisfied with it since.

In the last year I've covered 9,000 miles and toured Spain and Portugal on it with daily runs of up to 350 miles. I don't go off road so wanted both wheels the same diameter and cast rather than spoked, but overall with adventure bike styling and no linked brakes.

I think it took around 8,000 miles before the engine had completely freed up but a great and under-rated bike (for me).
