I've been out test riding new adventure bikes, 5 so far...!

Anything goes, and mine's a Guinness.

I've got the 1k Strom, '64 plate, and it delivers everything I was looking for in a tall tourer - V-Twin grunt, healthy lack of appetite for unleaded and the clincher - the price was right.

As already said, screen turbulence can be sorted easily - Tuono mirrors make a sizeable difference to the amount of buffeting - I've got a Suzy touring screen and find it visor up rideable at most speeds.

Exceptional VFM IMHO - go get one and enjoy.

These are the two new 2017 Vstrom 1000 models, in case anyone hasn't seen them. The XT has spoked wheels and slightly tapered bars but other than that they are identical and about £500 difference between the two.

Steve T...which screen do you have on yours?

I've been told it's the touring screen (a Suzuki one) by people who know more than I about accesories.

I was really impressed with the V strom aswell. In the end I went for the Versys purely down to the offer at the time. Had the deals been identical I would have probably plumbed for the VStrom. Very underestimated bit of kit.

Fucking hell, 20 seconds in and he does a long over take past 4 vehicles with junctions either side...WTF. He said it may have been naughty, certainly not impressing me with riding like that.

It's not though, is it?

The bloke takes a loaner out for a morning - no idea what it's like to live with it, offroad or tour with it. I find his "reviews" to be as much use as reading the specs at the back of Bike magazine.

Nice enough chap, totally superfluous.
