Several years ago we had a HD, I won't go into how unreliable this heap was as I know many riders who have large mileage on them. We had made some good friends with HDs went on holidays and in general had good times. When my HD let me down once to often it was replaced by a GS1200 ! Wow what a difference. A phone call to all our friends to arrange a Sunday ride out , and can you believe it no one could make it ! no problem off we went around the Peak District stopped for lunch. The sound of 4 HDs pulling up outside in the car park, The look on our so called friends was a sight to behold. That was almost 10 years ago not seen any of them again .

Last year somewhere on a country road I think in Pennsylvania I was rolling along on my GSA800.
up ahead I could see I was slowly gaining upon a motorcycle. as I got close I could see It was a Harley with a tough looking dude and his lady on board.
He became awear of me through his mirrors and began gesturing for me to drop back.....i.e. "Don't come into my space man"
Well, I was travelling along a little more quickly than him, so I though fuck you and I made to overtake him.
He accelerated and moved over to block my overtake.
Now we're both not on the world's fastest bikes here and my GSA800 is loaded tonthe gunnels, but it developed into a silly race, he gave me the finger as I passed him at about 110mph up a hill.
He was a big old boy, straight from central casting.....Tattoed, long haired, bearded, grizzled 50-something.
He could have been a lawyer or a 1%'er you never can tell, but he was a prick.

I generally find you meet the nicest people on bikes outside "the imaginary" season.
I also really enjoy meeting the "commute in any weather" type.
Its a shame that biking is viewed by some as a lifestyle choice- be it Charlie & Ewan prodigies
Valentino Rossi race replicas or Hells Angels wanabees...I blame the parents for removing them from the teat too soon ;)...but then again..its been going on for years..Mods/Rockers etc

If I ever meet you I have to tell you about the time I overtook a bunch of them on my Sporty, the conversation I had with the 'Road Captain' at the next set of lights was hilarious.

Passed a gang of HA flying colours on the M6 near Warrington last Friday week. I had to do a double take at one who was riding a Hayabusa in tracky bottoms and red pumps. Hard.
