I might go down to Perigueux to watch in a few days time.
It came almost past our house last year and it really is amazing. An hour before the bikes arrive, a huge caravan of vehicles (I counted about 200 Skoda estates last year) pass through, plus hundreds of mad-looking advertising floats. Stuff like a 40 foot banana, a giant tin of pineapple, etc etc - many throwing out freebies for the spectators. Then the pelleton is through in a fast blur followed by loads more support vehicles, motorbikes, camera crews and gendarmes. Must cost a fortune.
All the roads on the route near us were re-surfaced in the months up to the race too.

Will be interesting how long Geraint Thomas has the yellow jersey, with Chris Froome close behind in 2nd place.
Think it will all change in the mountains and Froome will take the lead.

Thomas is there for Froome's benefit, there to work for Froome. Tomorrow is another flat stage so unlikely to change tomorrow.

Yes, it's all written and agreed for Froome, unless something happens like the crash yesterday, then we may see Geraint go for it. But great to see Geraint up there for a few days.
But I think it's Froome's to loose, especially with the aerodynamic vortex shirts.
Marginal gains!!!
