Have you seen "Lord Buckethead" a timely reminder why it's not so bad being British. The fact they managed to stand him next to May making her very uncomfortable. This has made my day. :woohoo:

Unfortunately the Corbyn mob are not credible - if they were, we've have a Labour PM moving into No 10 right now.[/quote]Crossrutted wrote:[quote="petecam" post=587067
However if the result of this unfolding political dogs dinner is that for the first time in ages we have a credible socialist opposition.

Imagine the result if the red tops were behind him...
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Now it's done we can all relax as its all settled for the next five years and can all work towards the common goals the UK has chosen and a united, integrated, and forward thinking society.

Labour manifesto stated the renewal of Trident, so not realy valid.Trevor Twobikes wrote:May should implement everything in the Labour manifesto. Scrap Trident. Then turn to the country and say "Well this is what you wanted - tough shit!".

Re: Election 2017
Can't help thinking this morning that Teresa May has actually duped the queen. She went back to Downing Street on Friday morning, then tried to look as 'prime-ministerial' as possible (escorted motorcade, visit to Buck House etc) by quickly seizing the chance to tell the queen that she had the numbers to form a government. It now looks like she had no formal arrangement in place with the DUP at that point. The DUP this morning are denying that a deal has been done with the tories and a large chunk of even the tory party is rejecting a pact with such extremists. So where does that leave May? Has she misled the queen as well as most of the voting public? Do they still use traitor's gate these days?

The Tories have relied upon the DUP many times. They are both unionist parties after alldaveuprite wrote:Can't help thinking this morning that Teresa May has actually duped the queen. Re: Election 2017
Well yes. That has been one of the more distasteful aspects of the tory extreme right-wing for some time. But this is different. May now absolutely needs the DUP for her survival and will have to bribe them accordingly. And it's a terrible mistake in terms of the good friday agreement, which she seems to have forgotten requires the UK government to act as neutral honest broker between the 2 sides in N Ireland. She can't be in bed with one of those two sides while also delivering the terms of the GFA.Redmurty wrote:The Tories have relied upon the DUP many times.
