Now it's done we can all relax as its all settled for the next five years and can all work towards the common goals the UK has chosen and a united, integrated, and forward thinking society.

quote Mrs May "Brexit means Brexit" what are the Eurocrats going to make of this ??
we have just reverted back to a 2 party system that's all

I don't think the rest of Europe is any more stable I think there descent in the air everywhere. I think people in general are fed up with the status quo, all the major parties in france got a kicking.

To be fair Corbyn did a pretty decent job of lieing to the young

Totally agree. My FB feed had something every day from the Tories or Labour as well as friends reposting stuff. A lot from my 26 year old son who was well miffed after the Brexit vote so at least it's got him politicised (thumbs)

I'm glad that the Brexit referendum has led to this election result. People felt pissed and went and did something either marching or bashing social media like Donald Trump on crack in a whorehouse. The worst arguments I experienced were from the Brexiteers (I voted Out btw) who could utter no more than Mrs Mayhem and her soundbites ("The people voted out!" "No Brexit betrayal") which I think is why UKIP have disappeared because they have nothing new to offer.

And I will be having a wee tipple tonight to toast Wee Mad Jimmy Crankie's misery at losing so many SMPs

The referendum was a highly emotive subject complicated by Scottish independence (again). Some folks were there the first time around (1974?) and still smarting. Europe and the EU were/are such a big issue it was no wonder it hardened people's opinions and got tempers flaring.

I do think it has had a positive effect in that all the lies/claims from the campaign have been subjected to intense scrutiny since and (some) voters are now less trusting of the sound bites and prepared to dig away to find the truth. This has helped with the unpredicted outcome of this election and hopefully sets the standard for the future. My 26 year old son is now much more prepared to engage in political debate unlike he was before the referendum

I am pro-remain and still am.. I think UKIP and the Euro - skeptic wing of the Tory party have/are/will cause significant political and financial damage to this country and has made it more insular. But I digress....

However if the result of this unfolding political dogs dinner is that for the first time in ages we have a credible socialist opposition. (I think even if you don't like socialism you need a yin to the yang and New labour were just a Tory tribute band)!

And more importantly as you point out above, it's got the young interested in politics and their future. So there are at least some positives.

The result highlights the fact that British Society is more or less central on the political spectrum and the 'silent majority' are fed up with Politicians and the Media trying to drive a wedge between us (thumbs) .

Unfortunately the Corbyn mob are not credible - if they were, we've have a Labour PM moving into No 10 right now.
