It's going to be a long few weeks!!!
Re: It's going to be a long few weeks!!!
May strikes again.... Pull another U turn (can we believe anything you say?) and call a general election to destroy your opposition while you know they are weak. Choose your own hard interpretation of Brexit. Fight the Gina Miller case to stop MP's in Parliament having a say. Does this woman get any more authoritarian or autocratic? A parliament with no opposition is an awful thing for our countries democracy. I think for the first time ever I've voted in England, I'll be dumping the Tory candidate and voting Lib Dem. I've always liked what they stood for but never thought they had any chance of winning. This time it doesn't matter, the Tory's will win but the more MP's from other parties have seats to hold Theresa "Erdogan" May to account the better.

If they didn't want her there they would be rid.
Labour's system stops them getting rid of Corbyn.
Lib Dems will take anyone who puts their hand up.
UKIP will have a new one every few weeks.
Letting Joe Public vote gets Trump so is the current system here that bad?

Even if they wanted to they couldn't because nobody else wants the poison chalice David Cameron handed over. Even power mad Boris ran a mile. You'd have to be power mad and that shoe certainly fits on Theresa's foot. So much so she can't cope with a bit of opposition in parliament daring to disagree with her.DavidS wrote:If they didn't want her there they would be rid.

It's all down to 'power' and those who want to do it.
How many genuinely good PMs have there been in the last 100 years?
Work your way back through the years and it makes sorry reading.

No point moving, politics is the same in every country, except a dictatorship.
Norway is no better. Not a member of the EU, but due to he EØS agreement Norway
implements every EU directive quicker than most EU countries.
To think that 'leaving' will change anything is a pipe dream...

A chap at the HUMM last year had one. Nice bike but crap suspension. So much so that he'd brought a replacement rear shock to have fitted locally but there wasn't time to find a mechanic - he could have contacted me beforehand and I'd have fixed it up.SteveR wrote:I'd better see about the personal import of a DR650 from Yankland!!The Spanish Biker wrote:Hmm. "Honourable speaker"
I look at things this way...(no offence meant)
1) If most people in the US hate Trump and yet he was elected...would it not be the same thing to demand a new election to try and vote for a different outcome? No, it wouldn't because it has been fairly voted for, it has to stay!
2) One of the guys running in the election in Italy, has said that if he gets elected, he is also going to leave the EU, so has Le Penn in France, so has Holland.
Makes you think!
PS - Good morning friends

Re: It's going to be a long few weeks!!!
So if the Lib-Dems get voted in with an overwhelming majority on a 'revoking the activation of article 50 mandate pledge', would that be undemocratic in the eyes of the then hypothetical reduced numbers of Leave Voters, or anyone else for that matter? Just wondering, as will it not boil down to a hard leave, soft leave, remain, three way vote with other campaign pledges going unheard by many of the voting public? Obviously not including the well informed subscribers to his forum here of course.
