ISS spotting

Post by rlkat »

Just dragged my family outdoors to spot the ISS. Due at 10.08pm over Edinburgh.

No show. Anybody know Tim Peake's number so I can complain. :P

Seriously, though. I'm in awe every time I see it but my kids (and wife) are a bit 'meh'. I think humans are unappreciative of modern technology. Yeah, like 4.76 miles per second is so boring!!

I live in the middle of nowhere and there's no light pollution. I love sitting outside at night (between about now to September), in my deckchair with a whisky, chimenea on full blast, looking at the celestial display. The ISS is an added bonus. (thumbs)

Have you heard of google expeditions? You can look around the inside of the ISS modules on that
I went to the Caribbean on holiday with my wife last year.

Jamaica?

No, she wanted to.

"The trails of the world be countless, and most of the trails be tried.

You tread on the heels of many, till you come where the ways divide.

And one lies safe in the sunlight, and the other is dreary and wan, Yet you look aslant at the Lone Trail, and the Lone Trail lures you on....

....Bid good-bye to sweetheart, bid goodbye to friend, The Lone Trail, the Lone Trail, follow to the end.

Tarry not, and fear not, chosen of the true;

Lover of the Lone Trail, The Lone Trail waits for you"
