Always sad I suppose when someone dies, :(

But ------

I'm buzzing as we have a dead pool at work and
I've had chuck berry for over 10 years, he was still
Performing last year, thought I had no chance.

Work mate just msg me £200 + coming my way.

Cheers chuck. (thumbs)

Well I suppose it was the way to go he did indeed have a good innings. On the other hand he had a new LP in the making which I guess will be released ... (thumbs)

Saw him live at Ipswich Regent many years ago. He just played with a pianist and a drummer (probably locally hired, as was his way). What adjectives could you use, legendary, electric, magical, the list goes on. There were people dancing in the aisles and the show ended with him inviting all and sundry onto the stage to play (air guitar) with him, he then just left the stage.

My Chuck Berry song, "Promised Land". With my family we did the first part of that journey by greyhound bus some years before. Not sure my kids understood the significance at the time.

Perhaps in this case RIP should not be Requiescat in Pace (Rest in Peace) but Requiescat in Petra (Rest in Rock)!

Or Rest in Space....Jonny B Goode is one of a select number of pieces on a golden record in the Voyager spacecraft which is set to wander space for ever.

The music died on Saturday not in 1959.
