What a load of twaddle.I can understand people might like the monkey bike but it was clear it hadnt had any work done on it from when he took it apart. No powder coat,no new paintwork so what was the point of the show again!

Re: James May The Reassembler Honda 50
Looked forward to some detail on the centrifugal(centripetal for the purists) clutch and the disengagement system when the gear lever is pressed--its a work of simplicity, reliability and Honda magic--but there was nothing on the engine! I've modified one of those clutches with my own bobweight design to give much more plate clamping force--but thats another (long) story--I even attempted to make a diesel out of one with a Yanmar injector and a third cam lobe with a cross mounted injector rocker--sort of worked but you can't make a diesel smaller than about 200cc--its a surface area to volume ratio thing, and a small engine loses too much heat on compression--and thats another (long) story!!

I think you are probably a better candidate for hosting this programme.catcitrus wrote:Looked forward to some detail on the centrifugal(centripetal for the purists) clutch and the disengagement system when the gear lever is pressed--its a work of simplicity, reliability and Honda magic--but there was nothing on the engine! He covered the Centrifugal clutch when doing the lawnmower in series one.
Just along for the ride.
