Is there one bike that you've always wanted but never had?

Anything goes, and mine's a Guinness.

I've still got a few bikes on my must own before I die list and I've no doubt that if I ever get my grubby little paws on any of them I'll be at least slightly disappointed if not out and out devastated but the simple fact that I'll have owned them will be enough to compensate for the bad parts (thumbs)
Been there and done that

10 years ago I had a

1976 Yam RD400c

1982 Yam DT175MX

1982 Yam TY200 Majesty Trials

1982 Yam TY 175 Trials

All were mint

Nice to look at .....but 2005 wasn't the 1970's or 80's

Times had moved on and the rose coloured memories of youth that I tried to recreate weren't the same

Not a patch to ride, compared to modern bikes

So sold the lot in 6 months

Now I just look at other peoples at meets or shows, safe in the knowledge they are crap to ride home on

I love owning old bikes but the two that actually get used are the Montjuic and the H2 and they're nowhere near as much fun as when I test rode them as current bikes. The Laverda doesn't tick over, is lumpy as hell below about 6k rpm and isn't anywhere near as comfortable now I'm no longer 23.The H2 vibrates and has brakes made out of wood but actually feels as if it handles better than they did in the '70s. That'll be the replacement shocks and better tyres then (thumbs)

I don't get any enjoyment out of riding the 350LC my wife owns but I do have fun whenever I ride her 916. I guess that means I'm still addicted to fast motorbikes?

I had the Maico 490 from 1981 and a Yamaha YZ465g 1980 I forgot all about the RD500 as a bike i always wanted. There were so few around i never got to ride one. I had the Yamaha RD250,two RD 400,s and a 350 Lc. I also liked the look of the Honda NSR400 when it came out as well.

DT 400 - because I only had a DT 175 at the time, and saw a bloke do a massive wheely on a 400 so instantly smitten, and still am!
Norton Commando - because my mates uncle had one, and he was the coolest bloke alive, so thought I could be just like him if I had one - despite being a spotty 14 year old
RD 500 - because I had a quick go on a mates, and was still shaking days later
Maico 490 - because I was stupid!
Bultaco 350 - because Martin Lampkin had one, and bought one recently, but it's a pig of a thing so be careful!

A Yamaha XS1100 [road not custom] and a Kawasaki Z900 I ended up buying my brothers Kwak 1000 MK2 but always liked that 900 look.

As a 250cc rider in the late 70's I aspired to the 400's of the time.
I passed my test just before the 125cc law came into force. I bought a Kawasaki GPz550 which I thought was amazing....because it was!
I had a few 500-750cc bikes then had a biking brake for 10 years.
In the late 90's I decided to buy all the 400's I lusted after when I was 17/18 years old.
RD400, Honda Super Dream 400, GT380 and KH400.
By far the best of the bunch to ride was the KH400. The Honda was dreadful.
The Suzuki felt a bit Lardy and the Yam was quickest.
