FIFA are just bigoted wankers. Have they forgot about the Christmas truce and unofficial ceasefires! Involving games of football During the great war

Re: Poppies
forgetting levels of corruption!
I have no time and am totally disgusted by this, we need to remember the history so as not to repeat it.
Soon enough Hillary will have us fighting the Russians then the poppies will have a new meaning..

Re: Poppies
This really isn't difficult to understand.
Fifa regs bar any team representing any nation from displaying any symbols on their shirts. This isn't aimed at British teams, it's not that "they hate us" - it's a simple and straightforward regulation.
There was nothing stopping the FA from displaying poppies on screens or having a large poppy tifo. But no, the poppy whingers want to have their day in the sun again. It should be an individual choice to wear one, not to have your employer dictate you should wear one.
But carry on Mail readers, whine away.

By expressing ones personal view that's not inline with your thoughts then our views means we are all whingers.Mawsley wrote:This really isn't difficult to understand.

I think you have to remember what the poppy stands for,it doesn't matter what race or creed you are,
It's in remembrance of those who have laid down thier lives so that we can live as we are today.
Where would we be right now with the likes of ISIS if all those in the armed forces decided not to put thier lives on the line to defend and fight for us.
As for the poppy whingers wanting thier day in the sun again. Do you care to explain that a in a bit more detail?
That day comes but once a year when we stand side by side and remember our fallen heroes!

Re: Poppies
Plenty of football teams have charity slogans/logos on their shirts...and that's all the poppy is...a charity symbol.
No reason why it can't be worn.
On a lighter note...always in our thoughts...a small group of Englishmen...sent out against their will onto a cold, muddy field on their countrymen's behalf...none of them really want to be there...but country and duty calls...most of them just want to get it over and get back to their jobs, homes and families.
And that's the England football team for you!

On one sentencce you call pople "poppy whiners" and in the next you state it should be down to individual choice.Mawsley wrote:This really isn't difficult to understand.

No one is forcing anyone to wear a poppy.
Go figure....
