Three weeks wasted

Post by Mac 60 »

After my first major off since i was 16 I have to go back into hospital on Wednesday to have all of this French scaffolding removed and replaced as it has left me in constant pain and is according to the fracture clinic here no chance of ever being a job and is infact quite dangerous. They cant seem to figure out what one of the screws is actually doing. So thats three weeks wasted. Not knocking the french hospital staff or ambulance crew in St Omer who were fantastic and if anything spoilt me rotton but it would seem the surgeon threw my shoulder together just to get me home. Ah well could have been much worse.

Yea the thread was up here before any of my family knew what had happened. Just some well meaning lads but id no internet in St Omer and diddent what my lad finding out through these means. As for the accident, verdict is still out. Perfect riding conditions, lightly loaded bike, modest speed, perfectly straight piece of road, singing a Bruce Springsteen song {Thunder road} when my handlebars hammered into full right lock so hard i was thrown from the bike before i knew what was happening. Diddent think my singing was that bad  Havent seen my bike since we parted company. All my injurys are to my right arm and shoulder.

Get well soon too.

That was a scary event and I suspect in time from your own point of view you will want to know the cause.

I always look forward to your posts too.
