I guess the difference between what Boris et al said and the project fear stuff was that Boris knew the truth about how much we pay into the EU but told the lie and (as far as I can remember) the project fear stuff was predictions based on information from experts.

I know that all polititains are snakes but Boris really is not intersted in anything outside of his own personal success...

I tend to agree with you in 90 per cent of cases , Id tend to be with Billy Connolly who said words to the effect ....The ambition to become a politician should automatically disqualify someone from becoming one , and Im not particularly defending Boris but the Vindictive Undemocratic individual bringing this case is under investigation for misspending the funds that were raised to bring this very case.

If Boris wins will the costs have to be crowdfunded. Best of luck with that one slimeball.

Tend to agree with you Brenhden but this is the thin end of the wedge which will make everyone avoid saying or committing to anything. Please don’t let us go down the US litigation route.

The case against Boris rests not on the fact he was an MP at the time but that he was London mayor and instructed his mayoral team to support his position despite telling them the real figures.
Everyone seems to forget that Boris has a track record for lying - it is why he lost his job as a journalist and why he got kicked out of his first government job.

I wonder what he said to Helen and Petronella...

It's not a question of a manifesto promise un-met, it's about knowing misrepresentation of matters of fact...which he admitted on camera the day after the vote.

I heard business leaders (the CBI I think) on Radio 4 this morning saying that a Corbyn Socialist government would be better for the economy than a Tory government with a no deal leader. And they hate Corbyn!

But then to quote Gove, 'I think the people in this country have had enough of experts'.

Yeah, they represent 190,000 british businesses, big and small, so what do they know eh?

Funny thing is, there was a time when the CBI and the conservative party were joined at the hip. A time when the tories were intrinsically trusted as the party of business interests and introducing whatever policies advanced the interests of their business friends. But with the current madness, even the party of the establishment has gone rogue! 'Fuck business!' says Boris Johnson. Others totally ignore or try to discredit the advice of those who know far more about it than them (otherwise known as 'experts'). Everything points to no deal brexit bringing massive disruption, recession and general unpredictability - which were once the kind of things tories warned the public that a labour government would bring! You couldn't make it up.
