There was loads of pink on the world map.
Sweets were 3p a packet.
Crisps were 4p a packet.
Britain was the best in the world.
There was Democracy.
Fairness and Justice .
Black n white TV came out.
And people had respect.
Then I grew up(sort of)
and bought a bike
The only difference was that we were far more ignorant of the bad news than we are today ..... and black & white tele was sh*te
Maybe my memory is going but I do not think that we ever had a king when you could buy anything for any amount of p. Surely it was £ s d back in the good old days.
Past of the appeal of Brexit is selling some kind of rose tinted view of what Britain was like before we joined. From what I can remember, one of the reasons we joined is because our industry was in the shit. Much as I dislike Blair, I reckon his term in office, which coincided with closer ties with the EU, was the time Britain felt most prosperous. We were building new hospitals and schools rather than closing them. His biggest failure was not to overturn the Tories deregulation of the banking industry, which meant that when the global recession hit we were hit hard as well, this led to the Tories getting in and bringing in austerity, which has led us to the sorry state we are in today.

A close relative works at an involved governmental level so I know perfectly well what happens thanks.
But involve 27 countries in that and the potential for hiding behind the ‘service’ has to become easier.

Give me UK politics and civil service any time over the EU’s version.

Blame, blame, blame, blame............

Always some one else's fault? Even when you're in charge?

Still not one of these Leave 'champions' is saying what they will do, what the plan is.

Show me what the alternative is to the NI border that doesn't break up the Union?
They can't because you either break the GF agreement or you break the Articles of Union. There is no 3rd option. That's the cold hard truth here.

my opinion really does not matter

.. but where there is a will there is a way.

.. to see clearly, sometimes it helps to open the eyes.

.. simple answers are in front of us all.

.. cooperation is actually better than confrontation
though it is conflict that has driven mankind to great heights.

Gary, I don't do F-book and whenever you post something from there all i see is

Cannot load Facebook SDK. Disable any adblocker or tracking protection and try again.

I do have adblockers and noscript installed but even if I disable them it makes no difference, which can only mean f-book is demanding even more information from my browser (firefox) than I even know how to allow, but probably a good thing that this is so, I don't mind that Special Branch is tracking me but F-book can F off :D

But It's a shame I can't see a lot of what you post

Got the local media all around us this morning as my depot is right next to Scunthorpe steelworks

I'm sure there are different agendas at play with Greybull trying to squeeze the Govt as hard as they can for the bail out but there's a lot of my mates with twitchy bums in my town today

Hope it goes ok for them
