For once I agree with him.
Cheers Jak
Clearly because he had invested 25 years in bringing the referendum about he had a lot invested in it but if the result had gone the other way I suspect the matter would have been by now buried except for the whipping the EU would inflict for us daring to have the referendum.... massive pressure to join the Euro increased contributions and probably made to accept the never was to be EU army.

The implication from your image is that the Irish and Danes were made to vote again on exactly the same treaty which is totally untrue.

This is a good example for the UK - the Danish and Irish governments, following defeat, went back to the negotiating table and gained exclusions for their respective countries which went down well with the voting public and the referendums on those new deals were voted in (with bigger margins).

The 2nd Irish vote in 2002 resulted in 60% in favour and the 2009 vote was 67.1% in favour. the Danes were 56.7% in favour in the 2nd vote.

So it would be OK to have an election and then for the losing party to rewrite its manifesto and demand the election is held again until they get a majority?

Here is what the Leave campaign said about 'no deal' prior to the vote in a document called 'Our Case' which is still on their website.

“Taking back control is a careful change, not a sudden stop — we will negotiate the terms of a new deal before we start any legal process to leave”.

So 'no deal' is not what was voted for.

Respect the vote. Stop the leave process. Renegotiate. :D
