My prediction?

I wake up in a shower next to a freshly soaped up Victoria Principal and find it's all been a dream!

I voted out but I'm sad that there is now a rift with some family members who are hard core Brexiteers and a bit too far right even for me. I've mellowed about my vote and would prefer a second one based on the fact now I know a bit more.

I still dislike the EU as the club it is now, as I believe they do not truly want us, just our financial contribution, and it will always be run for the benefit of Germany as they have so many EU economies in debt to them. I don't see the point of being in a gang where nobody wants you.

But its pull up a chair, grab a beer and watch the show time!

I met a friend of mine from Luxembourg at Silverstone last year & he said they couldn't understand why we were leaving the EU when I told him that a lot of people in the UK think that Germany has taken over without a shot being fired this time he was mortified, they just don't see it like we do I'm afraid.

Yes, I think they do like our financial contribution. In my limited travels around Western Europe (France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Eire and a few others) I can't help to have noticed tens and tens of road signs or signs on buildings or on bridges saying "funded by the EU" however I don't recall seeing many of those here in the UK?

Yes I find that really weird. Everyone says the roads in Spain are from the EU. That said the factory May was in yesterday morning was kept in business by a grant from the EU. Maybe we just don't put the signs up.

I think it depends where you look for the signs. There seem to be an awful lot in Wales. I think we have fewer on larger infrastructure projects, possibly because our infrastructure hasn’t changed that much since we joined. There are a lot on community facilities, particularly in areas of deprevation. We also don’t seem to go in for such big signs. The majority of EU funding in the UK goes to farm subsidies with a fair chunk going to support the fishing industries.
I would guess that should we Leave these subsidies will stop. Some might consider that a good thing, but it would inevitably raise the cost of agriculture and probably lead to further destruction of the natural environment.
I think that one of the things that got forgotten in the referendum is what the benefits have been, the Leave campaign mostly focused on immigration and remain on project fear, neither side exactly covered themselves in glory. Maybe if we have a second referendum it might be a more adult debate, although somehow I doubt it.

New Zealand have managed to work without farm subsidies for a few years now.
Fishing may work that way if we can stop our waters being ripped apart by the huge Euro fishing vessels.

Jak, don't get too upset about losing EU Funding, as though the figures are complicated and there are different answers, they all agree on the overall fact that we pay more into the EU than it pays back to us.

It's a gravy train, but us lot don't have tickets
