Ladies & Gents - anybody willing to help my friend get married?
Hi all - please have a quick look at the link. The girl in question, is Emma Capper. She's 17.
I first met her on the day that ,my son was diagnosed with cancer, 5 years ago. My wife and I had to go into the Childrens Cancer Ward Office to have a difficult conversation about treatment options - and Emma, at just 12 years old, took my lad by the hand, and said, "don't worry, I've been here for months, and I know where all the toys and sweeties are!"
He trotted happily around the corner, and came back later grinning - he started his chemo the next day, and it continued for four years.
Emma was constantly in hospital with him, being treated for her own Ostesarcoma.
Sadly, after 6 years of treatments, she's had to call it a day. Its destroyed her bones, spread to her lungs and is in her brain.
She's a lovely kid - and last year, her boyfriend proposed to her. She was only 16, granted, but it seemed right.
Now she only has a few months to live - her family are skint (they're in Stockport) and Emma wants to get married - she may be young, but no lass should be denied her white wedding (thumbs)
So, another mum of our ward, Lisa, opened up a Go Fund Me Page - and its generated almost £5000 in less than 24 hours!
Now she can get married, and they are hoping to push through the barrier so they can have a honeymoon too!
If anyone is willing to donate even a fiver, I would be very very grateful
I'm lucky that my son has survived his cancer - we've sadly seen lots of kids pass away on our journey, but this one is different - its destroyed her transition to womanhood - and it would be brilliant, if she could go out in some style!
Thanks for reading
Phil

Done. It's only the cost of a few beers and curry bit if it helps her dreams come true it's better value.

Done - like Andy said - cost of a couple of drinks and a takeaway makes little difference to each of us but the money from that would make a large difference to her x

Done.
