Maybe you lot need to be more concerned about more riding than what you look like
Panniers sit in the garage unless I need them and yep covered in stickers because I actually like stickers and not some testosterone abr fuelled cock measuring exercise.
Who gives a toss whether your panniers are empty or not seriously???
What's it gunna be next?

I always carry a tyre pressure gauge in my jacket pocket, and an angled valve adapted.bond_yzf wrote:Maybe you lot need to be more concerned about more riding than what you look like

No side stand puck anymore since I've added a sidecar to the bike. (thumbs)

I don't think I have a bubble to burst. I would need a more macho looking bike fitted with or without Touratech / Metal mule panniers.-Ralph- wrote:Spoils the look of the bike, but you look nothing like Ewan and Thingy if you take them off!Trev wrote:Don't want to burst your bubble but panniers score zero pose points, IMO nothing spoils the look of a bike more than panniers and top box - apart from those old Rickman windjammer fairings :laugh:drumbrakes wrote: I do usually stop for a coffee after I've had to visit city shops, so there will be some people who see me walking from Starbucks to a bike with huge panniers then ride away, and presume I'm just posing.
The posers are anybody who lets the look of their bike be a reason not to use their bike for a journey.
If you have a bike, use it when you can.
If you have panniers, put them on when you might need to carry more.
If you don't need the panniers for a journey, take them off if you like.
That's all, don't worry about what opinions others may be forming (unless you are a teenager and you are actually out on the pull, with your bike, in which case, fair enough.)

Mine are quite wide........[email protected] wrote:My XT's panniers are narrower than the handlebars. They don't stop me filtering. Ditto with my K1100's.rallymoto wrote:why have panniers ?????? you get stuck in traffic, and cant filter !!!!!!!top box and tank bag, yahoo way to go

Doesn't take long to take them on and off.SteveW wrote: I'd never have my panniers fitted unless I had to carry extra kit.....why do you do it?.....Image?
Ive got some stickers on mine and I feel a bit of a show off when they're on and I'm not on a trip.
Still working on reducing the crap on a long trip but if I do go soft bags I'll admit to feeling a pang not having my hard earned stickers along for the ride.
I'm quite lucky that I often go with a mate who likes to bring everything...
