For me...
- MemoryMap (for heading over the hills)
- NavFree (road nav and free maps all round the world)
- ViewRanger for even more offline maps
- GoPro app (checking my pics and email them)
- Camera
- TapaTalk
- email

OSMand (routing with free maps)
Tapatalk (which used to be excellent before they started spamming adverts )

Funny you mention flashlight. Just been to the shed and realised I haven't installed one since changing my phone.

Well, I`m just getting into this smart phone stuff. I think more and more people will be using smartphones in the future for navigation instead of dedicated GPS`s. Especially with the new waterproof phones.
I use a very basic low spec. Nokia Lumia 520 which is a Windows phone. I use HERE Drive for road guidance and have added the app. GeoGPS for trails. The GeoGPS does just what a handheld GPS does including road directions, routing etc and uses the phones preloaded Bing OS 1:25 maps.
I`ve also heard good things about Memory Map and Viewranger.
