I'm going up to Takoda this weekend (is that ok Paul?) then riding (bicycle) out to watch the Tour de France over near Buttertubs. If there's anyone else who's up for a easy ride out and back you're more than welcome to join me. (thumbs) Leaving Takoda about midday.

I would love to but I have just converted to a roadie after being a mountain biker for years and buga me but its scary out there on tarmac with the traffic..
.....and arent roadie's twitchy?!
... and why are roadie spd's so awkard to clip into compared to mtb ones?!
.... and why did I buy an bling Italian machine when I am fat and unfit and look ridiculous on it
It may take some getting used too
Enjoy your ride .... I'll catch up after some more practice B)

i'll be on my tourer, but also have older road bike, but now have mountain bike SPDs on both.
Also not as fit as I used to be, will be taking it easy

Met Paul at HU event who said he had others booked in doing the same thing - said it's about 8 miles (?) to the route.
So I thought about taking my trail bike or bicycle in the van (thumbs)
But the nearest parking is 1.5 hour walk away so I ruled the trailie out.
I'm not sure what you'll do with the bicycle once there - it's going to be heaving!
So now planning to cycle to my sister's in Leeds.
Enjoy the day - don't forget the caravan that proceeds the race, that's meant to be a sight to see on it's own!
Diesel Pete - it's all tarmac on that road from Takoda
