Mike's last ride..................

Post by johnnyboxer »

Touching............http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-la ... e-26865958 A sobering lesson :( Many, many times whilst touring I have felt tired and kept pushing on for those last few miles and I know my concentration has been worse Maybe now, I'll pull over......................sit on the grass and drink some water and then do some exercises, to wake up ..................before getting back on the bike to ride those last few miles Worth a thought, true what the son says

Very powerful and moving. Respect to the family for doing this.

The family have done their bit. Now lets do ours. Don't push yourself, slow down, rest and take every opportunity to improve your riding skills and ability.

Remember their is a loving family like this one at home waiting for you. So come back safe.

RIP Mike.

As you say a sobering thought.
A couple of years ago I took a test ride on the VFR1200 in Falkirk and then went through to Edinburgh for a test ride on the Super Ten and had very little to eat all day.
On the way home to Linlithgow into a very strong wind started to feel a bit faint nearing home.

I usually only ride for about two hours and then look for somewhere to stop off for a coffee and something to eat, as the wife says "two hour feeds".

There must be some optimum time for stopping, I wonder what it is.
