Insurance, Ask Questions !

Post by Whippet »

In January whilst MOT'ing my Bike I was zapped by the Old Bill for doing 36 in a 30 limit. I got a £100 fine and 3 points (SP 30). Like a good citizen I decided to tell my Insurance Co CN.
I've just spent 30 minutes on the phone trying to get them to explain why they want to charge me an extra £40 for the speeding offence. The young man on the end of the phone who was a trainee, couldn't explain and kept going to his supervisor for advice . I discovered the £40 was a admin fee, when I asked to speak to the supervisor he came back and then told me they would now scrap the extra fee , so no charge. The morale of the storey is don't just give in and ask them to justify their action .

I didn't think you had to tell your insurance company about any convictions until renewal time anyway.
