Been out today, and bought this.
I had been advised not to go for the 3l but the 4.2 was out of my budget. I test drove it and going from a 407 to this I wouldn't know the difference between the 3l and 4.2.
It will serve its purpose perfectly for what I need it for.
Thanks for all the input into this thread. Gave me lots to think about.

Well done Mike, dump the tyres and fit BF Goodrich AT - good grip and will last well.
Have fun but please take lots of photos when you get it stuck

Kids are sooooo excited. All I'm getting is "daddy, can we go off roading tomorrow". I really want to but think the bike is going out to play in the morning. Have the lanes planned for next weekend for the 4x4.......with the kids and dogs obviously. And wife, if she makes some sarnies to take along!peterpan241 wrote:Well done Mike, dump the tyres and fit BF Goodrich AT - good grip and will last well.

Good choice , and as peterpan said get some BF Goodrich tyres for it if you planning on taking it of the black stuff

Nice mate, any more pics, interior, etc? What age and mileage did you manage to get?

Nice one, I love mine. Make sure the rear locker works, it's the knob below and to the right of the steering wheel.

Will get some pics soon. Its dirty now. Couldn't help take it down a couple of local lanes.-Ralph- wrote:Nice mate, any more pics, interior, etc? What age and mileage did you manage to get?
Age, 99 year. 93.5k miles. Good condition, a few scuffs, nothing major, especially considering how it will look after a few more lanes.
