CSCS revision booklet?

Post by Jelly »

Has anyone got a copy for operatives that I could borrow? ISBN-13:9781857513431

Due to the lack of our own work I've had to return to site work as a brickie but I need my CSCS card for operatives.

I've booked the test for Saturday and was hoping to get a copy from the library but to no avail, and I simply can't afford the £15 for the book.

Can anyone help me out? :)

I've not got the book any more but I waste hours of my time getting temps we bring in for the summer to do the practice tests and all I can suggest is that you make sure you know the correct colour codes for fire extinguishers and what type of fire to use each one on and also ensure you know the colour codes for signs on site so you know which mean mandatory, prohibited etc.

The rest of it is really straightforward and if you've done site work before you'll walk it. They normally give you the opportunity to run through a revision section first, then a mock test before doing the actual test so unless you're in a rush to get out you might as well do the lot.

I don't know if all the test centres are the same but most of them give you a pass slip then you have to pay extra to get the green card and most sites insist on the card rather than just the pass slip. It's a bit of a con really but they've got you over a barrel.

We made our mezzanine installers get these. Since they've had them they've never been asked to show them.......

That's what we all found when we took the first test in 96.

Now I'm going back to site work you can't get on the site without them.

Not sure if all test centers are the same but Bristol staff seem to have a complete lack of sense of humour or common courtesy. Then again I guess thats not what they are paid for.
As above and common sense should see you through, best of luck.

I've held a CCNSG safety passport card for years and on power stations or refineries that's all you need but earth moving sites don't accept it and want a CSCS one which doesn't actually involve any training.
