Long shot but have you tried bluetoothing them to the pc (thumbs) ...or wifi if the phone is modern :woohoo: ....

Hold your phone over the computer and shake firmly. The pics will drop right into the computer (make sure you open the right folder first)

If that doesn't work right away, flatten the phone with a big hammer or run the digger over it and try again (it's to compress the images so they don't take up as much space during the transfer)

If it's an android phone then upload them to google drive (via wifi) and you can get at them from any internet connected computer, apple and windows phones have their own version but the same basic idea.

I use my phone now rather than a dedicated camera as the picture quality is so good now,at least on my S7 Edge...pics automatically go to google and Dropbox so can see them on any device.Als do a little blog on facebook when on my travels and just save the pics on there which goes to the device hard drive I am saving on.
