There was a small gathering of us that attended the first ever ABR rally at Takoda campsite in Cumbria, including Paul who ran the site. It was known as “The boil rally” eleven years ago.
Hi Dave....different times! The extreme off road group consisted of A GS1200, 900 Elefant, 750 Africa twin, Kawasaki Versys and a DR350!
Is Craig still riding?
Too many Cagiva Elefants, Gran Canyons and Ducatis!
Azzalin SP and various others.

Were you there? I had to recover a big Cagiva that had crashed. Craig was running the off road course, we were both kept busy. Paul’s invited us up to his place at Takoda in August for a small reunion, coming?

My first festival was I think 2015 and remember Treadtrader and a few others helping me and my Pan European across the ploughed fields to the campsite - bit different now isn't it?

Thanks to the head honcho's for making it all happen, thank you to all retailers I spoke to for information given, thanks to all other campers for acting maturely, thanks to those I bored with my conversation, thanks to the coffee stall lady for the free coffee, thanks to my mates for putting up with me, thanks to HD for the use of their bike in the slow race. most of all thanks to the marshall who pushed me out of the track when my sidi crossfire boot pulled off my throttle position plug. Hope to see you all next time.

Thanks for all the kind words gentlemen, and for making the festival a great weekend. When the last camper left the venue, I drove around the Festival grounds and once again the ABR community had left the Ragley Hall estate litter free. Respect to all.

Looking at those photos above that’s the year when our (one and only) caterer didn’t turn up and we ended up cooking burgers and sausages free of charge for everyone who attended. I believe that’s me in the orange jacket getting the prep done. That would have been one hell of a task to repeat last weekend.

Here’s to the ABR Festival 2022 where we can hopefully devote 100% of our time to festival activities rather than reacting and implementing measures under Covid restrictions.
