Eyup users/readers of ABR.
On the XRV forum they have a “Gentlemen do Lunch” thread, anyhoo, there’s a few of us that hang around in here (SteveR, Paul W, Spud and me) going out for lunch next Tuesday at 12:30, we’re meeting at a cafe, in Wales, at the junction of the B4391 and the B4407, sorry dont know its name.
A screenshot of the destination.
Afterwards we’re probably going to Barmouth for ice cream, (living life in the fast lane!) anyone welcome...

Re: Gentlemen do lunch
Eyup.
Well, we didnt meet at the aforementioned cafe, it was shut, so we met at the Doof cafe in Ruthin. Seven said they were coming, six turned up, five went on to Barmouth leaving via the bridge...
Three went exploring single track lanes over the mountains...

Re: Gentlemen do lunch
Good report Steve.
Good to see that the GDL has transited across from the old XRV forum nicely now
A fine day out,and positively scorchio in N. Wales, not something you can have on many rides up there. I thought that the Doof Cafe folks are very friendly, but IMO, the food was a little too.... basic, for discerning Gentlemen that is! Nice ride and I loved the road off from Bala, having not done it before, a nice test of man and machine, even my HGV.
We will meet again asap. Ideas welcomed...
The criteria is a good ride to the location, decent nosh and chat and followed by either a run out, or a good ride back home again. Some thoughts??
North Wales coast
Lanccyshire
Staffy Moorlands/Derbyshire
Long fancied the Forest of Bowland, but it's a big old trek... maybe even a night out!
Some good riding in East Midlands, but light on hills i found !!
Cosford Air Museum. Crap ride for me, but I can do a ride out afterwards if wanted, but TBH, there is easily a days worth of stuff to see there! Probs better out of school Holsd!!!

Re: Gentlemen do lunch
Caff at Crossgates in Mid Wales is the ideal lunch spot and subsequent entry to lots of good riding ... Bloody good ride to there too, but again, a trek for the NW lads?
And of course, I am always happy to lead a gentle GDL style trail run, for Gentlemen on Larger Bikes
