I plan to be there - coming down from Aberdeen on an Africa Twin and camping.

Ecky Thump Rally 12th - 14th Oct 2018
Re: Ecky Thump Rally 12th - 14th Oct 2018
Back home now, nasty wet grimy ride home. 175 miles in 3hrs 30mins so reasonable time for conditions. Glad I was on the Pan with its big fairing. Hope everyone got home ok without any probs.
Thanks to Mario for organising. Nice to see some of the usual faces and a few new ones.

was a little damp ,,,, had tobe steady as you say conditions weren't good ,
i was wet to the skin ,,, only my gloves were dry (one up for muffs)
got home and right in the shower but it took a wile to stop shaking,, a bit of hypothermia was setting in ,,
not the best of rides but a great week end ,, with good people

Me and Boydy got back around 1.30ish. My feet were soaked right through. First thing was a long hot shower then a hot mug of tea.
Thanks Steve for organizing the meet up. Great weekend, from what I can remember, Nice to meet up with old friends and make new ones. Hope all got home safely.
See you next time, Nick.

Re: Ecky Thump Rally 12th - 14th Oct 2018
Hi guys,
It was a good weekend, shame about the weather, but enjoyed meeting some new friends. I look forward to going on more of meetings etc.
When I got home I thought I had problems, took of my gloves and had purple hands.... the dye had run
But I’m not buying gloves to ride in the rain, I’m a sunshine rider

Hoorah! My camping and riding kit has finally dried out.
That weather certainly tested the camping gear and I did see quite a bit of discarded stuff in the campsite bin.
Nickoff filled half of the bin so I’m looking forward to seeing him next year using a top of the range tent and sleeping bag. Surely the Wendy house tent didn’t survive Nick?

That sleeping bag I chucked never was much good so it just had to go. Only unloaded the bike today and my top of the range tent is now on the washing lineV2orV4 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 7:24 pm Hoorah! My camping and riding kit has finally dried out.
