Big thanks to Devon John & his team for the organisation (thumbs)
Rob, Ricky & the Devon RoSPa lads for the road ride - never fail to impress (thumbs)
Devon John for his culinary skills - excellent both nights
Tim for conducting the auction
Our celebrity authors for attending & book signings ;)
All those who gave auction items and the auction winners B)
And last but not least ALL THOSE WHO ATTENDED, without you it would have been a cold lonely place :)

And Agent Orange who entertained all weekend, even if he did chicken out of the off-road ride

Brilliant weekend Devon John and The Undertaker never fail to provide a "proper" bike rally in the true spirit of ABR. No frills, just great nosh, great company and ale! Here are my pics from the poor sod who ended up driving (just passed my test, so I'm not quite finished the honeymoon yet). ENjoy, and I'll see y'awll next year.
The charity auction was a winner and I need a new tent.

from the camp site

Hi John,

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and we will make sure that we pass on your compliments to the Chefs on the weekend.

Congratulations on raising an amazing £965 for Devon Air Ambulance!

I know you have a website where you post news about the Yule Tide Ride, is there any chance you can post this link https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attractio ... gland.html as this would be a massive help to us.

Thank you very much in advance.

I hope you have a great day.

Kind regards,
Vincent

Van update (Fiat Scudo 1.9 Peugeot engined NA asthmatic) --got it back today--they had to grind off the armoured cover at the rear of the pump to remove part of the immobiliser electronics and then run an ignition fed 12v direct to the fuel pump shut off solenoid--lots of work (at least a day's labour), and cost a bit--but now I turn the key and it goes(its a common problem with the old keypad system apparently)!--and it passed its MOT without any advisories at 180,000. I've worked out that I've had it for 10 years and that's the first time its really cost me anything so can't complain. Glad you all had a good time--and how did the offroad ride go?

I will be putting the money in the bank on Friday, it's the earliest I can get there, then I'll transfer it to the Air ambulance with the gift aid box ticked so the tax can be reclaimed and we should have a higher amount. I'll post it ASAP.
Rick.

Rick.
Money is in the bank and after doing a spot of research on just giving I found that they take a 5% cut off any donation so I shall be using the good old post and cheque system.
£514 in 2014
£790 in 2015
£965 this year and with gift aid it should be £1206.25 When I get conformation I'll put it up on here.
Also I sent a covering note, I hope this is OK.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am making this donation on behalf of the Adventure Bike Rider Yuletide Exmoor Camping Weekend.
We have held this event for the last 5 years and have been raising money for the Air Ambulance by selling food & drinks, an auction, a road ride out and an off road ride out, for the said time.
As you can see we are a group of Bikers who enjoy a good weekend away with like-minded people from all over the UK who always dig deep for us in this part of the world. They appreciate the work that we put into all the events by bidding well over the price of goods on offer IE books £20:00 each signed by the author Sam Manicom who also joined us for the weekend.
Recognition to John Mills who does most of the organisation and cooking, Tim for the Auction, Rob Hook (RoSPA) for the road ride out of which I am part of, the guys who took the off road ride out, and many others who pitched in when needed.
I hope this makes a difference in someone's life. Yours is a charity that we who ride bikes hope never to have in our lives but if we ever needed you: -
Thanks,
Rick.
