Finished the book last night Bernard. Very good read.
Did you ever have to find out what was wrong with Bertha's gearbox, or did the problem just disappear?

Ahhh - the gearbox gremlins?
They never reappeared at all.
A truly bizarre event that sounded like a washing machine full of nuts and bolts........... I have a video of it somewhere, sounds like a bag of spanners being rattled.
