I'd like to say a big thanks for taking us on our adventure around the plain, a first for me, and well worth the travel from Wales.
Catch you again mike

When is an adventure not an adventure?
I left at 9.00 this morning to get there for 10-it was quite cold! Had to stop twice to defrost hands which made me late, as I got to A303, I went onto reserve, first time on bike and instead of going to Services ended up on A303 - went a fair way before I found a garage. On way back got off at Soltice sevices not Countess, it was 10.45. Anyway, missed everyone.
After going back to Salisbury to thaw out decided to do Ox Drove. It was icy, slippy and the ruts had me sideways a few times.
It was good to go out when I would not have normally done, did my first off road on Gilera which was great so all was not lost.
Next time..

Well I'd like to thank Mike 101 for inviting us to ride around his back garden, he even turned the heating down so it wasn't too muddy. Many thanks to all who braved the colder weather and made the outing worthwhile.

We were lulled into a comfortable pre-lunch bimble, and then the fun started. I did enjoy my little lie down, where's the pictures? The afternoon was a trifle more technical/testing.

A funtastic day had by all and good to meet up with new faces and old.

Respect goes out to the only GS1200 rider (Shrek) who wasn't scared!

That's a shame Howard. Was a good day.

I've been to places on the Plain I've never been before.... and never will again!

Top bunch of riders 'cos it were right slippery. Had a few moments with a big front end slide on the inner perimeter track and a massive semi pirouette coming out of 'dead man's gulch' at the end!

To echo everyone else, a big THANK YOU to Mike for organising and leading. Also thanks to the guys who gave me a jumpstart, without which i'd of missed out like Mktmhoward. A great fun day and nice route, especially the accidental loop, first bit of off-road I've done in this country. Hope everyone got home safely as well, look forwards to the next one, wherever it may be. (thumbs) Here's a crap little vid i took before my phone mount got broke. this is public unlike ACP's  Just can't figure out how to get the video to insert here

A few more pics, glad I bailed after lunch, there were already big patches of ice over the mendips, would not have been any good in the dark.

Luckily the battery on my phone lasted long enough to record the route on viewrainger.

OK, public now - not that they're any good anyway.

To embed the vid just copy and paste the address line from YouTube. No need to do the insert video malarkey from the toolbar. Boing boing (thumbs)
