Hi muddy folk..
well its time for another outing but this time its uncharted territory :woohoo: ..
Basically From Burbage over to Newbury inc the wayfarers way..frequented by 4x4 ..
so :
its heavily rutted and deep too..very overgrown ..grass over chalk :woohoo: :woohoo:
so its going to be technical and if wet..downright Dangerous :S
meet point is countess services A303 finish point Tothill services A34..grub stop enroute somewhere..meet at 9AM depart 9.30AM..
knobbly tyres a must with decent tread depth..talking tkc minimum but more Enduro style..this will be very hard on a big bike..due to ruts and overgrown ..think only central track clear in places ..but great views.
This is more suited to Enduro type bikes but the big ktm`s welcome..
MAX 6 inc me....EXPERIENCED RIDERS ONLY this aint no sailsbury plain ..
if it gets too hard people are free to drop out..my normal safe pace

Hungerford area trail ride- saturday 5th October
Re: Hungerford area trail ride- saturday 5th October
Hi Russ. Thanks for the GPX. I've done parts of the route before with the KTM mob. At one part on the Wayfarer we came across some opposite direction 4x4's. They were pointing downhill and couldn't reverse and we were stuck in ruts so deep we couldn't extract the bikes. It was an impasse for a while til we managed to somehow squeeze passed.
New tyres are arriving tomorrow

Dammit. I will be down the west country that weekend. This looks good Russ. I'm sure you and the Usual Suspects will have a good time.
Enjoy the day guys, maybe I could pinch a gpx file when you are done. I haven't been up that way myself. Dammit, Dammit, Dammit.

Hmmm, so that's three of us that can't join in.
Ok, Russ if you don't mind passing on the gpx stuff when you have cleared the way for us then I will happily sort another day. It seems too good an area to leave untainted  .
I work shifts so I'm sure we can come up with something to suit everyone.
Enjoy your run fellas. Remember Tramp is a little nippier on the CCM than his old tank  .

New tyres have turned up today so will get them fitted tomorrow. Looking forward to this. So where are people actually riding from to meet at countess? Am I the only one from the east? Phil
