WK 400 Trail 2016 ****SOLD****

Post by netsonic »

Just testing the water........having only used my WK400 twice this year I feel its time to sell. I thought I would get a view of interest to sell on here first before going to the usual source (ebay) as most who read this and use this site will understand the pros and cons of ownership of such a bike.

You will also see its been well cared for and it works as it should. It started on the button the other day having not run for a few months. Battery connected to a conditioner. Fuel is pre Ethanol in the tank

I've used it once since I refurbished the exhaust system so that still looks new, posted on here when I did the job

It has a shad base plate but no shad top box, can easily change to a Peli box which comes with the bike, pictures of both again on the WK400 thread

It was mine since new so one owner and I've written up on here all the work and changes to keep it running in tip top shape and will come with lots of spares, original tool kit + spark plug spanner. Not easy to value...........i had about £1900 in mind, but difficult to price as nothing really to compare with. It will be SORN at the end of this month and the MOT finishes then too, but I have no doubts with it passing an MOT as required

Mileage is about 9000. I live on the South coast 7 miles from Brighton, I cant deliver so its pick up only

Any views or questions welcomed

A couple of months ago I managed to get £1700 through a Classified sale for a white 2016 one (one of many unseen lockdown purchases) with approx 500 miles on showroom except the rear spokes had started to corrode. Tried to order from Alicraparseholes in China and they sent me one nipple :( But I have got 2 brand new speedo drives and an ABS version speedo sat on my shelves for sale on Ebay.
I had been price watching for the past year and it seemed private sales where between £1200-£1850 and traders where£1600-£2200.
Lowest mileage was 450 and highest was 5500 but most where less than a 1000.
Not my proudest moment buying the WK but when I was having a cuppa in the workshop it was lovely to look at sat amongst all the Italian bikes.
Too many Cagiva Elefants, Gran Canyons and Ducatis!
Azzalin SP and various others.

Yes indeed, spring is a good time to sell bikes.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Sadly Ebay is also full of time wasters the same as some other places. I am selling something at the moment and lost track of the idiots who ask dumb questions or offer silly money.
But it only takes 1 genuine buyer 😎👍

At any auction (and ebay is not different) the seasoned buyers don't show their hand until the last minute.
In the motortrade, the experienced vehicle buyers set what they are prepared to buy for each lot out, let the bidding run, and only on the 'going' do they bid if the price is still below what they thought the lot was worth. Wait for the hammer to be raised, then fire!
Early bidders tend to be time-wasters.
