This is nothing to do with me, but if you want a challenge....

I suspect the head bolts weren't retorqued when they should have been....a weak point that was later rectified.

I'd be interested in that if it didn't have the 19/17 inch wheels

He's got the standard wheels too...having second thoughts about the Yam?
I for one am still waiting for your definitive opinion on the 9X0 v T7
to a certain extent with that bike you are 'buying trouble', but it probably is just a head gasket issue.

I've a feeling that bike has been up for sale before.
The graphics and oil issue ring a bell.
Perhaps he tried to sell it before but was asking far to much for it and it's issues
As said could be just a head gasket but once you start delving into these bikes and its inner workings they become a lot more complicated and expensive.
Wormick has out his 950 up for sale on FB. Asking £2500 which is low but it's not a pretty bike and has been used for what it was intended

He has had it up for sale before, and he says he pulled it because of the oil issues.
It's a gamble, and the price you bid would have to reflect that...but if all it needs is a head gasket...
They really are one hell of a bike...everything from vast motorways distances to moderate trails just gets swallowed up.
I've used my for commuting from Gloucester to Kent, and greenlaning in Wales and Dorset, and I don't think any other bike could cover that spectrum quite so well...but still waiting to hear about the Yam T7 from Bob!

The T700 is going nowhere, i'm still loving it. I'd be interested in a 950 as a project to give me something to do, I still have a soft spot for them.Richard Simpson Mark II wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 9:16 pm He's got the standard wheels too...having second thoughts about the Yam?
