Rotopax fuel can

Post by Lee Frost »

Anyone got a 1.75US Gallon Rotopax (6.6 litre) up for grabs, with or without the mount?
Also, has anyone else found/used a cheaper alternative to the Rotopax that's as robust and leak-free? I don't need to mount it direct to the bike - it could go in a dry bag. Just need the option to carry extra fuel for my G310GS to increase the range.

I keep a Primus 1.5l fuel bottle on the bike, that's enough to get me to a garage in the UK - you could always carry more than one if needed.....

I recently bought a 2L "Fuelfriend" sturdy fuel container - very well made, German. I carry it with me on the Maxi-Scooter under the storage seat n case I get stuck, or even on the V-Strom.

Something like £14 to buy new, excellent quality, doesn't leak, I'd highly recommend it.

Cheers;

I've used one of the knock off Chinese Rotopax copies without issue, about £25ish with a mount if memory serves me correctly
Current bikes: XT1200ZE, MT01, XV750se, TRS 300RR, Scorpa factory 300- still mine despite some thieving scum bag bastard currently having possession of it

I also use the 2L ‘Fuel Friend’ if I need the extra range for touring.

It fits perfectly in either of the rear pockets of my Mosko Moto Reckless 80 panniers.

Thanks for the replies. I did wonder about the cheap Rotopax copies - if they leak/are as robust as Rotopax. Might try one of those, or buy a couple of the recommend 2litre bottles.
