Keep in touch with loved ones at home/send texts/show the folks where you are/ chat where no phone signal exists due to remoteness/terrain/ emergency beacon etc.
I've used this on trips in the Arctic, Caucuses, Russia etc so people know where I am and that I'm ok.
No more remote trips planned so it's for sale.
Sensible offers please.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: inReach SE Satellite Communicator
They are made by Garmin, and the model at a guess is an inReach SE

Re: inReach SE Satellite Communicator
Exact model details: INRCH20, iridium .'Delorme' .
Always paranoid I'd accidentally hit the 'SOS button' in the breast pocket of my riding jacket ( even though it's got a safety lock slide).
Seeing a helicopter or Nimrod flying overhead looking for my location would be a very expensive mistake!

Re: inReach SE Satellite Communicator
Looks like it's one of these:
Very good idea. Not so much the 'look what a great time I'm having while you're stuck in the office' function, which is gross, but the emergency button really could save your life. This is for proper wilderness travellers.
Looks like a bargain to me. Best of luck with the sale....

Malco
I'll consider reasonable offers as I've no more big trips in the foreseeable future

Hi
Interested in this, as i keep doing solo off road trips - even in UK I need SOS
They seem to be USD 300 new ?
I would then need a (very light) subscription service - what do you pay on this?
How old is this one as I cannot see a new price on this model - the new in reach seems to be at USD 350
