Moto Morini Granpasso 2008

Post by Gemily »

Moto Morini Granpasso 2008
Current owner since 2015 when purchased from another member from the Moto Morini forum.
UK bike with full service history
34,426 miles
Upgrades:
Front suspension - Andreani Misano fully adjustable fork cartridges, uprated progressive springs, black nitride coated stanchions, new bushes and seals. The cartridges made a big difference to the way the bike handles and can be tuned to suit riding style. Original internals will be supplied with the bike.
Exhaust system - Factory exhaust system ceramic coated matt black
Silicon coolant hoses
Heated grips – Originals supplied with the bike are like new
Side light replaced with 2x LED rings around headlights
Rear sprocket - 43 std toothed replaced with 47 toothed version (original sprocket still has plenty of life left and will come with the bike) I did this to improve slow speed riding which it has done nicely. Top speed has come down by approx. 10mph but acceleration is far better. The front wheel likes to pop up and say hello quite a lot now
12v Power socket under the seat – switched via a relay with the ignition so you could extend with further power sockets

Since owning it has had the following parts replaced:
Clutch master cylinder
Left radiator fan
Recent chain and sprocket
Replacement speed sensor
General info
Rear Ohlins shock was rebuilt before I bought the bike. All adjusters still move easily
Tyres are Metzler Karoo 3 front and rear with approx. 3mm tread down centres.
Usage - The bike has been used and thoroughly enjoyed while being 100% reliable! It is used most of the year unless they are salting the roads and then she does not come out. It has been used on fire tracks and easy green lanes but I have other toys for doing more serious stuff.

There is paint flaking off the lower part of the engine and some of the fixings could do with being replaced with stainless ones.
Panels were repainted recently however it has suffered with the usual cracks on the top of the fuel tank plastic which I may be able to get repaired.
Rear foot pegs are no longer spring loaded

The last service was the big expensive one which I pulled early. The major service includes the replacement of the timing chain, tensioners, etc… To carry out this work the engine needs to be removed and split involving a large amount of labour costs. This was done early and is not required for another 40k miles.
All service work in my ownership has been carried out by NLM.

Why am I selling?
I have recently started a new job that involves a 60 mile commute through the Cotswolds. I wanted a bike with a larger fuel tank that I could use all year. In January I purchased a Honda Africa Twin and this year I have already ridden 6k miles. I do not want to put that many miles on the GP as it is far too nice a bike to be used as a daily commute. I don’t want to sell it as I would still like to go to local bike meets where it always draws attention however, the wife says I have too many toys and this one has to go

Beautiful bike with a stonkin engine for relatively little money. The styling is individual but also very 'on trend' too.
Glws.

I've seen this bike when it was over at our ABR Rally.

Never seen one before, but I was very taken with it, and its sounds awesome 8-)

Very individual but beautiful machine for someone.

Good luck with the sale Gemily ;)
If I'm not online.............

I'm probably out on the Bat Bike
