1998 CB500S low miles reliable commuter

Post by street_moto »

Up for sale due to a house move and needing a car/van for tip runs and commuting. I purchased this bike in Dec last year, after my Funduro let me down. As per the title it's a 1998 Honda CB500S in the fastest colour Although 20 years old it has obviously been well looked after with only the fork lowers and front engine casings suffering from corrosion, a couple of marks consummate with age. 24k miles. Tyres are almost new, battery is new, mini indicators (originals available), chain and sprockets very good, air filter clean, oil and filter change within last 1000 miles, brakes bled and cleaned, heated grips, original tool kit and first aid kit under seat. Not much history, 6 owners, starts, goes and stops very well indeed. Lovely and light and handles well. A2 license compatible. I would jump on it and go anywhere, typical Honda reliability. The corrosion on the fork lowers and engine casings would easily rub down and polish up and it would be a very presentable machine indeed. I happily paid £1180 for it and would like that back. Hopefully attached are plenty of photos and a couple of videos, the two bottom ones, one a cold start and the other a walk around. Any questions please feel free to ask
Bike can be viewed in Wirral.
Regards Dave

I have one of these the X model 1999 (no fairing) This is my go for bike ,I also have a Tracer and a Klx. Its done over 51000 mls. I've had it over 9 years
Like the above it starts goes and stops, and as a bonus a carb, a choke, a petrol tap with reserve, a on off light switch. Good economy 70ish, oil changes at 8000 mls.

An all round good bike. Good luck with the sale.
