KTM 990 Adventure 2006

Post by deksawyer »

Bought the bike from the UK KTM Forum 5 or 6 years ago, and it's been truly brilliant. I've modded it with some sensible additions IMO, and here's what you get with the bike:

Alpina Tubeless 17/19 wheels with Continental Trail Attack 2 tyres with lots of miles left
Shortened side stand for the smaller wheels
Oberon Clutch Slave cylinder
Duke 2 mirrors
Hepco & Becker Pannier racks
Engine bars (not fitted)
Fancy KTM alloy throttle tube with interchangeable cams
KTM Heated Grips
Touratech Sat Nav bracket
GIT Rear rack (ie Adventure Spec)
Charlie's Side Stand Relocator
Fork Bleeders
Optimate Cable
Aeroflow Touring Screen
Aeroflow Winglets
'Pecgaz' stand offs and cut down inner screen (to enable the double screen mod)
KTM High mudguard & fork protectors/brake line guides
12v socket in 'glove box'
Original Tool Kit
TuneECU cable
KTM side stand eliminator dongle.

You also get the std wheels, screen, exhausts, mudguard, rack etc, etc as well as 4 spare keys and the KTM wallet thing and service history. It's running one of KevinYork's maps and it's pretty smooth and can average about 48mpg on a good day. Bike starts on the button and has been very reliable.

Bike has done 19,788 miles. Oil and filters were changed 1500 or so miles ago, brake pads and fluid all round have about 1000 miles, C&S have done about 3000 miles. Fuel pump & filters were changed 1000 miles ago as well.

The only negative things I can say about it, and it's purely cosmetic, is the tank stickers (the lower grey bits) have bubbled and the 'Adventure' decals are starting to peel off on the throttle side, and one of the front panels, in front of the tank has some of the paint missing (was like that when I bought the bike). Otherwise it's a cracker.

Bike is located in Fife, Scotland. Payment by cash on collection. £4500
