Best Sites For Aftermarket Wheels??

Post by Boggs »

Rather than sell/switch bikes for the 2018 season,im thinking about maybe just spending some £££'s on my current Mk3 Versys 650 instead,i was thinking about some lighter higher quality wheels or "rims" as the trendy types call them nowadays, anybody know of any good sites for a browse.

I think Karl does Alpina or central wheels will build you some conventional ones.

Depends what you want and why you want them.

Wire-spoke wheels will be better for off-road, but probably heavier than what you've got now.

Lightweight one-piece wheels will improve road handling, be hopeless off road and horribly expensive if you can get them at all.

I was toying with spoked wheels just for the look really,i only do a few very light trails maybe 3 or 4 times a year but the extra weight of them does put me off, upon further reflection it's really not worth doing it i don't think, maybe a change is on the cards,i tested the Africa Twin back in november and it's left me tempted.

Go on, you know you want to .... and then you can join the debate on tubed tyres and end up going for hideously expensive aftermarket tubeless spoked rims some other AT owners
