Having decided I am struggling with trail riding the 690, I am going to put more road friendly tyres on it as I love riding it.
So......I am looking for a KTM 350 EXC or possibly a Husky FE 350.
Preferably in the high £3k to low £4k region but could be squuezed a tad higher if I don't have to add bits and ideally within easy reach of the south east.

Try a Beta 390RR too, perfect trail motor

David. My friend has his 350 up for sale at a dealer in Colchester.

He looks after his bikes and it's only been used for green lanes around my way.
Not sure if it's too much money?

Thanks Petecam - I had seen it and it's a bit too many brownie points I'm afraid.
I have also had a suggestion that a 450 is a better trail riding option, which I will be exploring tomorrow.
As long as the bike weight comes down enough, I don't have a problem with reasonable power levels - that's what a throttle is for!

Re: 350 EXC (or Husky FE350?) wanted
I have a 45 year aversion to 2t as my first bike was a BSA Bantam and my only other 2t (DT175) seized its oil pump every few miles. Never been near one since. I've never had muck luck or love with Jap bikes either.
110kg dry is fine for me and I am back on the 350EXC trail and have one in my sights for tomorrow.
I had a quick run out on my nephews FE250 yesterday as it felt great but lacks a bit of oomph for the road work needed here.
I know where I am with KTMs and parts are are quick, easy and reasonably inexpensive to buy. Beta, Gas Gas etc might be viable but they also might have disappeared in a year or so.
Thanks for all the suggestions though as they do help concentrate the mind.

Beta have been in business for 110 years
