I had the worlds worst VW Golf GTi that I quickly got rid of but it didn't make all GTi's crap. Just that one being a 'Friday car'.
I had 5 over the years, in period, and the Mk2 was the best.
One man's great bike is another man's worst.

Yes, I love my 690 (for now ;) and it works for me even though it is a compromise bike.
Won't stop me going for something else for winter mud, even though it seems to work pretty well in the sloppy stuff so far. My compromise has to come from needing to do 80% road miles when trail riding.
Thetford was good on my 400, agree it would be fun on the 690. Mike Irving took us there on his.

Greetings oh short people with the 690’s. We are all different and each have different opinions. Mine is that the 690 is for short people. This has been proven by PG Tips at 5 foot 7 owning one. Like I said, well suited to those with a height restriction.
I would love to come and join the alphabet club and show you how to ride. I may even come on a 690. There are enough for sale. When is your next meet.
