Sena 20S Headset - Feedback and wanted

Post by Speedofile »

Hi Guy's

Have been playing with the idea of getting a Sena 20S Headset and have been doing a lot of reading on this. Conference up to 8 people with all the other advantages. Wife and I do quite a bit of riding and I have given in to her wanting to be in touch while riding...no jokes please!

Has anyone on here used then and what do you think?

Also, does anyone have a set of 2 for sale or that they don't use any more?

Cheers

We've got a Sena headset but I'll have to check which one it is. Mainly brilliant, did have an issue with the first purchase and they had to be replaced but so far no more problems. Work really well but the range isn't as far as they say it is.

It'll be 1.1. miles line of sight. I used my sena 10u as an intercom with another rider last weekend for the first time, comms was brilliant and crystal clear, but depending on the terrain, ours was very hilly and tree lined, so out of sight and it would drop off but very quickly come back on.

My biggest issue is with music sharing, I/we didnt want to but seems no option but to, which is a bit shit.

Yeah not a hope. It does seem to be about 1/2 mile to be fair 3/4 at the most, also seems to be terrain dependable

To be honest, half a mile is fine, if you're riding together you'll not often be more than that apart anyway.

Me and the wife have a 20S each too!

Dear, but you get what you pay for and we both really rate them!

We both ride, and yeah they're brill upto 0.5miles, and occasionally further as the other fella said.

I regularly spend 7 or 8 hours a day on my bike and find that if I have a usb charging stick with me, if I plug it in whilst i stop for a brew it will last all day comfortably :)

Also, buy new if you can, I had one issue with the contacts on mine corroding slightly - whereas Sarahs was fine...

I contacted Sena and after a modestly faffy bit of admin, (sending it to Paris!) received a brand new unit within a week! (thumbs)

Also, the iPhone App is good - works seamlessly with my iphone bluetooth

Here in the UK less than 1 mile will not be a problem, but when I go out to Africa and tour it may be a problem. You see, the dust in Namibia for example doesn't allow you to ride close together and we very often would ride about a mile apart because of this.

Thank you for all the feedback and I think i will dig deeper in my pocket and buy new! (thumbs)
