Having bought an ex Si Pavey off road school GS1200 I wouldn't have any hesitations with that. Cosmetically tatty but you can tidy that up for not a great fortune, or just leave as is and have some fun on it without the worry of depreciation. It'll probably still be worth that in 2 years time.

Quick custom paint job and it will look like a £9500 bike, bargain for someone.

The repair on the engine casing shows that they need a better sump guard if they're going to be used properly but apart from that it didn't look to bad to me?

I would have bought it this morning without hesitatio, few scratches and knocks mean nothing to me it's been used for what it was designed.
