This bike has been recently re-assembled after sitting in bits since 1991.

Before 1991 the bike received a complete re-spray in the colour you see in the pictures.

The engine was removed after 1991 and has had a complete re-build by Bournemouth Bantams since that time, involving changing every internal bearing, spring and the clutch plates. At the same time an electronic ignition system was fitted.

The engine runs and the bike is able to move under it’s own power. This is no concourse machine, having a D7 model exhaust fitted plus several other non-original parts! Before being taken off the road the machine was ridden to and around Loch Ness from Moray on 3 occasions as part of the vintage bike rally that is run from Inverness during the summer.

The original vehicle log book is present, as is the current V5C (in my name). Also present is the owners manual, a workshop manual and a Haynes book on the Bantams history.

There's no way in the World I'd buy a Bantam but that actually looks like a nice bike. I hope you find a buyer who appreciates it for what it is and keeps it running for a long time but in the words of the Dragons "I'm out".

Cost me 3 quid from a school buddy back in 1965
(No Officer I wasn't riding it on the road) ;)
learned all my skills on that bike.
Well falling off skills... :side:

£995 sounds like a super low price

Thanks for the comments chaps.

Just spent half an hour replying to gumtree enquiries about the bike!

I've never had a response like it to a bike sale :woohoo:

It`s cheap.
A B175 engine/bare sold on ebay for 730pounds a couple of days ago.
Used to go to school on a D1 Plunger.
I`m building a couple of 186 specials @ the moment. Great little machines & starting to get Expensive & spares rarer.
A 125 has lapped the IOM @ over 80 mph.
Some of the 3 speed 125`s are almost as quick as the Manx`s around Cadwell.
Lightness is everything.

the nearest I got to owning a Bantam was a 1966(ish) Bantam Cub - bantam cycle parts cub engine, brought it in boxes built it up but too physically small for me.
Have a smooth sale

My first bike was a D7 175 in trials trim. Wish I had it now. Spent many weekends in the woods, and up the mountain on that when I was a kid :) Then I bought a D14-4 when I started working, but the big-end went. So I put the D3 engine in it from my trials bike. Then that started to jump out of 3rd(top),so I had to ride around with the gear selector positioned so I could rest my foot on it,to keep it in gear! Thing you do when young eh! :P
Bsa actually released a trail version..the Bushman.

Hi Steve T
Is the BSA Bantam still for sale?
Where in Moray are you located? I'm in Inverness
