Not too sure on the price of a replacement rear shock or whether the original could be re-worked, but exc front forks are available second hand for about £200. I picked up a set for £85 with leaking seals, rebuilt them and fitted second hand heavier springs and the whole lot owed me under £200. Completely transformed the way the bike handled off road. I wasn't worried about the height and the shock was rebuilt under warranty so had a heavier spring fitted at the same time. It was like a completely different bike and the difference was amazing.Mike54 wrote:Big money to do the replacement shock on the back with longer rod. Also expensive with the forks. If he got a husky 630 he could have a bespoke wilbers shock and say 52 mil showa forks on the front for less than 5 grand total for an 11 plate bike with very low mileage.
Also E version not as desirable therefore not as saleable.
I would look for a cheap E and spend the extra money getting it how you want it.
Unless you weigh 11 stone then no off road bike is good out the box, they all need the suspension tweaking to suit.
